Coole Lady

The one-woman performance of Coole Lady starring Joan McCready opened in 2003 and took Northern Ireland by storm selling out in venues across the county. 

Set in her estate at Coole Park, County Galway, Lady Gregory reflects on a life of service to her country, her family and her friends.  She recalls those times when she was the centre of Ireland’s literary life and also those periods of personal tragedy and national struggle. Proud and indomitable on the outside, she reveals a passionate nature and a deep vulnerability that engages our sympathies.
